Happy 6th Birthday Alondra!

Our sweetie pie Alondra turned 6, and what a blessing!
She chose Minnie Mouse as the theme for her cake and I had a few mishaps and accidents preparing it. But at the end, it worked out and we enjoyed the day.
This is the first year that we didn't have Mary here but her sisters, who were here from New Zealand for Mary's services, came to represent her.
Thanks to Aubrey, Lance & fa, Grandma, Grandpa, John, John John & Vivian, Luis Fernando, Janet &   Girls, Brooke, Kevin & kids for coming.

Mishaps and Accidents
The plan was to have minnie mouse's head on top of the cake with a big pink bow, so I prepared the head and I covered with fondant. I left it on the counter to dry out and harden up and went to school for  an hour. Kids stayed home with Kam. I came back and the head had pokes all over thanks to Dionka, I couldn't save it so I tossed it away. Then I dropped one of the 2 backup Minnie Mouse's faces I had done! The prettiest one! So I used the "other one" and stopped working on the cake. I didn't wanted to drop it or smashed or who knows what!

My Dearest Friend Mary

This post is too hard to put together.
I can't stop crying for the loss of my dearest friend Mary. She was nana to my kids and mum to me. Such a great example on so many aspects in life but especially on how to endure to the end with a positive attitude…just keep swimming!
Mary was my best friend, we would talked everyday until her last day here on earth.
I am so sad for not having a picture of just the two of us. How is that possible in 10 years of friendship??!!

About Our Friendship:

Mary had the most beautiful yard, her laundry always smelled so good, her chocolate chips cookies were so yummy as it was her pavlova, salsa & clam chowder!
Her sense of humor was as bad as mine, but oh that we will cracked-up so often!
I loved how she will always correct my accent and tried to make me say things with her accent.
I already miss our daily phone calls and how we will talk about everything and nothing.
I thanked her for getting me into biking and staying active.
I am honored to know she trusted me to let me helped her carry her pain and sadness.
I admire her strength, perseverance, her will…
She will always served us and many others while going through chemo, radiation, mastectomy, reconstruction, etc. and will scold me when I turned her around.
ohhh, Mary!

Bye Bye Hair..AGAIN!

No More Braces for ME!!!!

Ok, so porcelain braces are the best IF you don't want to look like a teenager at thirty-something BUT to get them out???!!! OH MY HEAVENS
I T     I S      P A I N F U L!!
They shattered everywhere, it hurt, I had most of the glue still on my teeth, it hurt, only the anchors came out clean and completely, it hurt, it felt like she was going to pull my teeth out, it hurt and did I mention that IT HURT!!!!???? OUCH, OUCH, OUCH!!!
Now, the good news is that my teeth look GREAT and the retainer is not the old fashioned wire but a clear, almost invisible aligner just like the Invisalign braces.

Class of 2026

Our school district superintendent, Mr. Martin W. Bates, had Alondra's kindergarten class go on a field trip to the high school to encourage the kids to stay in school, graduate from high school and get a good education.  He gave them a t-shirt that says: "Class of 2026" which is the year she should be graduating from high school.
So here we go Class of 2026!!!!

Another Tooth Is Gone!!!

This is the 3rd tooth that Alondra loses and the easiest one to fall down. She got up in the morning ready to eat breakfast and made some tongue wiggle and the tooth was out!!
