Kaylee is 12 years old and in 6th grade. She likes going to school because she loves the school bus ride and adores Leslie, the driver. She has have another excellent year (knock on wood) where we have gone to the OR only twice and came home the same day and zero ER visits. Her hips are still hurting but the pain has go down from 10 to 4 or 6. She needs constant re-positioning and strong medications to help with the pain. She is a sweetheart and her sense of humor couldn't be better. Her wonderful attitude towards life helps us a lot and also keeps us grounded.
Kaysee, is also 12 and in 6th grade. Since she was officially diagnosed with Autism in March 2014 we finally can help her or at least understand her. Her short life has been a rollercoaster trying to figure out what has been going on with her. She has a tremendous imagination, and she can be as funny as it comes! She loves reading and writing. At school she thrives in Science but Math doesn't make any sense. She has a tender heart and a sweet spirit.
Alondra, 7 years old and in 2nd grade, is in her second year of Chinese Immersion, where she does half of the day in Chinese and the other half in English. Since the stroke (March 2012), she's having difficulties with her reading skills but her Math skills are good! She melts her Momma's heart with her sweetness and her soft ways. She loves Minecraft, The Carpenters, and Taylor Swift.
Dante, 6 years old and 1st grade, is always on the go. Loves being outdoors, riding his bike, rollerblades, or scooter. He still loves digging in the back yard. He is also in his first year of Chinese Immersion. He is talented in Math and reading. He can keep track of time, numbers, and figure out things easily. He loves bearing his testimony and giving talks at Church. He loves hugs and kisses.
Dionka, 5 years old and in kindergarten, is busy as a bee! She likes to copy and do anything her Mom does (I better be careful). She is outgoing, funny, and did I mention busy? She is good in sports, singing, dancing, and making messes, lots of messes! She fights to be the one to give the prayer everyday. At school, she is well-behaved, thank goodness, and loves to participate all the time. She is pure fun and joy.
Nere, 19 years old, is our oldest female niece from both sides. She came to live with us in July and started to work for the state helping with Kaylee. She is going to school to learn English. She loves going on her so call "field trips" to Walmart and eating McDonalds. She is sweet and a perfect fit for our crazy family.
Kam, thirty-something years old (hahahahaha), completed his bachelors degree in Business Management through Wester Governors University. He also applied for a Manager position, which he got, with the SLCC. In August, he was able to buy a second non-family car but great for his new job and travel needs: a grey 4-door Chevy Aveo [170+k miles] which he named Chuck Norris. Do not mess with Chuck Norris!
Rosi, also thirty-something but 2 years older than Kam {now that he is happy, lets continue}. I also graduated with a bachelors degree in Business Information Technology Management through WGU. I will start going to the SLCC in January seeking a Construction & Building Certificate. I am excited to learn the craft and mostly to play, I meant, to operate the tools.
Kam & Rosi, we will be celebrating our 13th marriage anniversary on the 27 of December and for the first time since we got married, we will be spending 2 nights, yeah you heard me right, 2 nights away in a hotel thanks to Nere's help.
As a FAMILY, we are thankful and fortunate to know of Father in heaven and His son Jesus Christ. Our lives are blessed by living the gospel and by following His steps. Life is definitely better, enjoyable, and we can handle life's trials and tribulations with a hopeful-faithful attitude.
May you find the answers to your prayers and dreams in 2016. May the Lord always bless you all!
Love, The Howells
